Experience in Gard:

Helena joined Gard’s Defence team as a Senior Lawyer in 2021. Since joining Helena has worked for owner and charterer members on the Defence side of the business.

Other work-related experiences:

Helena studied law at Bristol University before spending a year working in the bunker industry.  After completing her LPC, she qualified with a leading shipping law firm and travelled through South East Asia to Australia where she spent two years working for a local shipping firm.  She continued her career in private practice upon returning to London and moved into the P&I industry in 2004.

 She developed her commercial awareness further by studying and completing an MBA in 2017.

Special skills / Areas of interest:

Helena speaks French and was a member of the BIMCO GENCON drafting committee.
